| Titel: | Quantum-based measurement of low level signals using the Josephson effect and its potential application to noise thermometry | |
| Vortragender: | Dr. Jonathan Williams NPL |

| Abstract: | The Josephson effect has been used to underpin electrical metrology for more than 30 years. However, recent advances in high speed electronics and Josephson junction designs have enabled new methods for generating precision voltages from this quantum standard. The talk will give a review of recent advances in this area and will discuss how these might be used in the area of noise thermometry with the ultimate aim of realising the Boltzmann constant in terms of the electrical quantum units. | |
