The electricity division of PTB substantially participates in the upcoming Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM), being held 10.-15. July 2016 in Ottawa (Canada). The CPEM is the most important scientific conference in the field of electrical precision metrology.
CPEM is dedicated to electromagnetic measurements of highest accuracy in all fields of fundamental and applied metrology. A major focus is on latest developments and progress in quantum systems that allow electrical standards to be linked to fundamental constants to represent the units of the international system of units, the SI. The conference is held biannually at varying places around the world. International participation comprises experts from national metrology institutes, industrial organisations that manufacture electrical standards and measurement instruments of highest accuracy as well as industrial and government standard laboratories, and institutes from universities and academia that conduct research on precision measurements, standards and related fundamental constants.
The previous CPEM featured nearly 400 scientific contributions and was held in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) in 2014. This year’s CPEM will be held in Ottawa (Canada) in July 2016. As in previous years, the electricity division of PTB will present a remarkably high number of about 50 scientific contributions from all six departments, about half of which have been selected as oral talks.
Further information and the preliminary programme of CPEM 2016 are available under www.cpem2016.com.
