How large, how wide, how heavy? It is the PTB's task to measure all that is measurable - and to do this with as high an accuracy as possible. To report on this in a comprehensible, informative and exciting way is the task of the PTB's new popular-science magazine. It is expressly directed also at pupils and students, and at all those who do not yet know PTB. Once a year, maßstäbe (published in German only) will discuss a priority topic from the field of metrology, the art of measurement. A whole range of journalistic styles (account, report, story, gloss ...) will reflect the multifarious ways in which the "measurement" topic turns up in science and in everyday life. Issue No. 1 on the topic "Dimensions of the units" was published at the end of September 2001.
