When calculating the measurement uncertainty according to the Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM), known systematic effects to the measurement result have to be compensated by correction. The uncertainty of this correction has to be taken into account when calculating the measurement uncertainty.
In practise however, occasionally, this correction is not performed due to technical or economical reasons. Since this case is not addressed in the GUM, the PTB states in the attached document, how to proceed based on the ideas of the GUM in this case.
