The monograph series serves to present subjects which ensue from, or are closely related to, the activities of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt. These subjects relate not only to metrological issues but also to the various aspects of the physical and technical research work undertaken by the PTB and its sister institutes. Eras from the history of the Reichsanstalt and the Bundesanstalt as well as the life and achievements of its important personalities are presented.
The content and form of the volumes – which are published in German or English – allow for the variety of the tasks and subjects. The monograph series therefore forms the platform for a wide spectrum of publications ranging from textbook-like presentations of certain self-contained areas and questions to larger reports about open areas of research and from biographies and treatises to historical subjects to conference and symposium volumes. The diversity of the content is certainly reflected by diversity of the structure, the scope and the figures. But the aim nevertheless is to give the series a uniform appearance.
The following volumes are not subject to fixed prices. They are available at a special price of EUR 12.- per volume (plus 7 % value added tax) at the PTB.
