Tasks
Our activities are based on the German Medical Devices Act (
Medizinproduktegesetz ), the German Ordinance on the Installation, Operation and Use of Medical Devices (Medizinprodukte-Betreiberverordnung ) and the German Law concerning Units (Gesetz ueber Einheiten im Messwesen). We are working on medical devices with a measuring function. Especially with respect to eye tonometers, we
- check test devices for their aptitude to be used for metrological checks in ac-cordance with the German Ordinance on the Installation, Operation and Use of Medical Devices;
- investigate and evaluate test procedures for such devices;
- appraise medical devices with a measuring function;
- counsel users, manufacturers, notified bodies, as well as local and federal offices.
