Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt

The working group is the only one in the world which is able to realise the new low temperature scale (PLTS-2000) in the whole range between 1 mK and 1 K with lowest uncertainties. The scale is disseminated by means of calibrated thermometers and superconductive reference-points samples. Current research activities are the improvement and simplification of the realisation of the scale. In the field of practical thermometry the working group is supporting industry and research groups by the investigation of new temperature sensors, measurement methods and sources of measurement uncertainties.
