The working group operates cryogenic radiometers as primary standards for the measurement of optical radiant power and for the realisation and dissemination of the spectral responsivity of detectors in the spectral range from 200 nm to 2.0 μm. A further field of work is the characterisation of detectors, in particular semiconductor photodiode detectors with respect to the uniformity, linearity, temperature dependence, and stability of its spectral responsivity. The research activities focus on the reduced uncertainty of detector transfer standards for the radiometric measurement of thermodynamic temperatures and for photometry und applied radiometry
(department 4.1: Photometry and Applied Radiometry) as well as on the extension of the spectral range of the realisation and dissemination of the spectral responsivity.
