Tasks

Superconducting QUantum Interference Devices (SQUIDs) for various applications and the required readout circuitry are developed. The results flow directly into the activities of the Working Groups 7.21 and 7.23, but are also of interest for other research groups. Special emphasis is put on the reduction of noise and the increase of bandwidth in order to improve the signal quality and to open new applications for superconducting sensors. In addition to the SQUID readout amplifiers, adapted amplifiers for precision measurements and circuit characterization are developed. The developed SQUIDs and amplifiers lead the field. Beside circuit development, consulting and support for measurements with low-noise sensors in the frequency range between dc and a few 100 MHz are offered.
