Tasks
- Research & Development and international cooperation in metrology in chemistry (Metre Convention-CCQM, EURAMET TC-MC)
- Development and application of primary methods for establishing traceability of chemical and physico-chemical measurements to the SI units with highest accuracy
- Development and maintenance of the national measurement standards for chemical measurements, including electrochemistry in cooperation with the German Network for Metrology in Chemistry
- Providing traceability to the SI for the German Calibration Service (DAkkS) and the verification authorities
- Assessment of chemical laboratories for accreditation as calibration laboratories in the framework of the DAkkS
- Chemical and physico-chemical services for PTB-internal purposes
