Overview

Research on low-dimensional electronic systems with regard to their use as a quantum standards for the realisation of the electrical units, in particular

  • Investigations of GHz single-charge transport in semiconductor nanostructures; This project is undertaken within the "European Metrology Research Programme". Project title: "Quantum ampere: Realisation of the new SI ampere"

  • Fabrication and optimization of quantum Hall devices, including serial and parallel circuits, for the realization of the unit of electrical resistance in the DC and AC regime
  • Development of carbon based single-electron devices
Leading the project "Single electron pumping in graphene based nanostructures" within the Priority Programme SPP 1459 "Graphene"

    Contact: Bernd Kästner
  • Fabrication of other low-dimensional systems using electron-beam lithography and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), including self-assembled quantum dots
