Shock acceleration exciter

The shock exciter designed for accelerations of medium intensities mainly consists of a mechanical spring unit, an air-borne transmitting element ("hammer") and an air-borne measuring unit ("anvil") to which the accelerometer to be calibrated is attached. The released spring strikes the hammer which in turn hits the anvil which is accelerated. Exchangeable elastic pads between hammer and anvil allow certain shock shapes to be attained and disturbing oscillations to be avoided. The shock peak value can be varied between 100 m/s2 and 5000 m/s2, and the shock duration between 0,5 ms and 10 ms. Different sets of the sub-systems (air bearing with hammer, air bearing with anvil and spring unit) are available, allowing various combinations of peak values and shock durations to be excited.
