Ion accelerators and reference radiation fields
Department 6.4
Tasks
The department is responsible for the metrology - the science of measurement - and the dosimetry of neutron radiation. We deal with topics in radiation protection, radiation therapy, radiobiology, technology and research.
For these tasks we use sophisticated irradiation facilities (particle accelerators) which are also used by external groups. We use our accelerators also to produce high-energy photon beams and ion microbeams.
