The 8th Symposium will be held in the Seminaris conference hotel at the shore of the Lake Templin at Potsdam (Germany) not far from Berlin from October 12 - 16, 2015.
|By car||From the North: Coming from the A24 (Hamburg/Rostock) turn into the A10 (Berliner Ring), exit “Potsdam Nord”, the hotel guiding system (green) will bring you safe and sound to the destination.|
|From the West: Coming from the A2 (Hannover) turn into the A10, exit “Groß Kreutz”, the hotel guiding system (green) will bring you to the destination.|
|From the South and East: Coming from the A9 / A13 / A12 (Leipzig, Dresden, Frankfurt/O.) turn into the A10, exit “Michendorf", the hotel guiding system (green) will bring you to the destination.|
|By plane to Berlin Schoenefeld||You will take the RB 22 regional train from the 'Berlin Schönefeld' airport to 'Potsdam Hauptbahnhof' (main station). Travel time is approx. 50 minutes.|
|By plane to Berlin Tegel||You will take the 109 bus bound for 'Zoologischer Garten' to S-Bahn station 'Charlottenburg'. From there you will take the S7 (tram) or the RE1 (regional train bound for Magdeburg) to 'Potsdam Hauptbahnhof' (main station). Travel time is approx. 50 minutes.|
There are several ways to get to the Symposium venue from 'Potsdam Hauptbahnhof':
|By tram and bus||Tram 91 or 98 and bus 695 go to the station 'Bahnhof Pirschheide'. Please follow the hotel signs, less than 15 minutes by foot.|
|Public taxi||A public taxi to the Hotel costs about 20€: Taxigenossenschaft Potsdam, Tel. (0)331-292929 (Travel time is approx. 15-20 min.)|
|8FSM-Shuttle (only on Sunday!)||There will be a 8FSM-shuttle to the symposium venue (Seminaris Seehotel) every full and half hour between 2pm and 7pm. Coming from the trains, please walk towards "Information"/Ausgang Nord (exit north). After leaving the station via the escalators/stairs cross Babelsberger Straße you will find the 8FSM-shuttle between the busses (Potsdam Sightseeing). The shuttle will leave at full and half hours and may arrive just a few minutes before departure time.|
|For adventurers only! (By water taxi. Only on Sunday!)||The landing stage of the water taxi is not far from Potsdam Hauptbahnhof. Leave the water taxi at stop 12 / 'Hotel Mercure' close to 'Seminaris See-Hotel' (about 15€)!|
|Hotel shuttle service||The hotel offers a shuttle service, for which a fare will be charged, to the train stations and airports. Pick-up times have to be forwarded <em>to the hotel </em>at least 48 hours before your arrival.|

Potsdam is the capital of the German federal state of Brandenburg with a population of 160 000 located about 25 km south-west of Berlin in Germany. Potsdam is famous for the residence of the Prussian kings with its numerous and unique parks which are a world heritage of UNESCO. In 1945 the victorious Allied leaders of World War II decided at the Potsdam Conference about postwar Europe. Potsdam is a university town, has several colleges and is home to a number of research foundations.
